MISSION
STATEMENT
Business
retention, expansion and recruitment.
PHILOSOPHY
We
will cooperate extensively with GROW Minnesota, private economic
development
associations, the Willmar Area Multicultural Market and any
other organizations who share our
goals.
Within
reason, we will provide for existing industries to expand
the same incentives provided to
recruited industries.
MEETING
SCHEDULE
Meets
10:30 a.m. on the first Wednesday on a quarterly basis in
the months of January, April, July and October at the EDC's
board room.

2010 GOALS
1. Business visitation. EDC Staff and BRE/R Committee
members will visit a minimum of
50 Kandiyohi County businesses
2. Focus groups. Continue dialogue luncheons with
the aviation, health services
and technology industries.
3. Visit airports and develop an airport business and
marketing plan.
4. Organize and train three area communities in the
skills of conducting their own business
retention call program.
5. Work with Kandiyohi County communities to energize
a retail and service business
recruitment program.
a. Atwater hotel restoration and physician for clinic.
b. Community-owned grocery
store with a local foods focus for Willmar, New London and
Pennock.
6. Work with the EDC's Agriculture and Renewable Energy
Development Committee to
assist its business retention,
expansion and recruitment goals.
7. 2010 business reception in conjunction with Manufacturer's
Week (October 2-6).
